Visit St. John’s

We invite visitors to join us for worship every Sunday at our 11:00 AM service of Holy Eucharist.

We can’t wait to meet you.

  • There is a small parking lot in front of the Parish Hall to the right side of the church accessed from Trinity Chapel Road. This is where our accessible spaces are located. We have a large parking lot behind the church. To reach this lot, turn onto Pressley Road, which runs beside the church, then make a right turn into our parking lot. There is a wide sidewalk next to the playground that will lead you to the church.

  • There are restrooms in both the Parish Hall (there is a changing table for babies in the women’s room) and in the church.

  • Most of us dress very casually. Our only “rule” is to be comfortable and to be yourself.

  • Yes. We have a nursery room in the Parish Hall where your child(ren) ages 3 months - 4 can stay during the church service. Nursery attendants bring children back to the church before communion to be with their families.

  • Coffee Hour is a time set aside after the Sunday service to enjoy coffee and refreshments. It is also a time to get to know one another better and to celebrate special occasions in the life of the parish.

  • First, join us for worship. You will also want to speak to our Rector. If you are a member of another Episcopal church, you can request that your letter of membership be transferred to St. John’s. If you are a member of another Christian denomination, you can bring your baptistmal certificate or ssimply provide the parish office with your birth date and place so that we can add your name to our membership records. If you have never belonged to a church or been baptized, no problem. The Episcopal Church baptizes both children and adutls. Father McNair can meet with you about baptism and confirmation and answer any questions you may have.

  • Simply come forward to the communion rail when the usher invites your row and stand or kneel, holding out your hands. You can either eat the bread right away, or you can hold it in your hand and intinct (dip) it into the wine. If you do not wish to receive the wine, cross your arms over yoru chest after you have received the bread. If you do not wish to receive communion, you are welcome to come forward and cross your arms over your chest and the priest will give you a blessing.

  • For information on baptisms, weddings, and funerals, please call the church office at (828) 298-3553.
